  the witnesses are worse than the pharisees ever were!.

  if you don't turn in a time slip and record your "ministerial" activities, you are no good.. if you wanted to smoke, you would be kicked out, even though the bible says nothing about smoking (and j.f.

  rutherford, the society's president regularly smoked).. you cannot go to a "quick build" project and give of your free services if you are wearing a tee shirt with a logo on it!.

  Instead of saying, "Brother James", "Sister Janet", "Brother Victor" or "Sister Wendy", the mandatory use of family names when calling upon the members of the audience from the platform.

  circuit overseer visit(cov) supposed to happen once every 6 months may actually be as frequent as once every 3months.

  In some parts of Japan, the COV occurs three times a year. But as Broken Promises mentioned, it could be that there aren't many congregations within certain circuits. Afterall, if you looks at the yearbook statistics, Japan has been decreasing in the total amount of congregations over the last five years or so.

  Did your congregation have "Talent" Shows?

  we had several "talent" shows over the years in my original congregation - it was the only annual gathering more nauseating that the meetings.. my friend and i would always bring our walkmans and blare heavy metal in the back - hoping to block out the embarassing crap on the stage.you always had a few older ones get up on stage and slaughter a kingdumb song.

  Japanese Sumo Wrestling, Good Or Bad?

  i hate to be a sports critic but nevertheless, i find this kind of wrestling as going far on the top.

  i have great respect for other country's culture but the question is: how far should we tolerant extremist sport that glorify pain and suffering as a price of achievement?

  what is your reactions?

  For the Japanese JW, sumo is bad because it is linked with the Shinto religion and the rituals/priests that pervades almost every aspect of it.

  P.S. As for me personally, I really don't care for sumo. A few minutes may entertain me and I would be satisfied with that.

  This always throws the brothers (BOE) for a loop in my congregation on how I always know the new releases even before the first district convention starts. In this case, two weeks from now.

  My Dad Died Today

  he has been ill for some time, but it was still unexpected.

  he was never a jw and i didn't really have a close relationship with him, since he remarried after my parents divorced.

  i reunited with him in the mid 90's after over 10 years of not seeing him.. .

  RANDY WATTER'S DAD JUST DIED

  randy watters, owner of freeminds.org father just died a couple of hours ago from pneumonia and alzheimers.

  he was 86 years old.

  as randy has been tireless in his efforts to help countless people come out of the wts, i would like to express my sincere condolences to him at this time.. .
